SB 172 was introduced Tuesday September 22nd. If passed, it would require the Ohio Department of Education to waive GED fees for Ohio residents who pass practice GED tests that are administered by non-profit adult education programs. We are asking Coalition members to consider the following actions:
1. Call or email Senator Tim Grendell (614/644-7718; SD18@senate.state.oh.us) to thank him for introducing SB 172.
2. Please consider thanking the co-sponsors of SB 172 Senators R. Miller (614/466-5131, rmiller@maild.sen.state.oh.us); Turner (614/466-4583; senatorturner@maild.sen.state.oh.us); Smith (614/466-4857; senatorsmith@maild.sen.state.oh.us); D. Miller (614/466-5123; SD23@maild.sen.state.oh.us); Schaffer (614/466-5838; SD31@senate.state.oh.us); Sawyer (614/466-7041; senatorsawyer@maild.sen.state.oh.us); and Fedor (614/466-5204; SD11@maild.sen.state.oh.us).
3. Begin thinking about providing proponent testimony when the bill is given a public hearing.
