The Governor’s Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives (GOFBCI) announces the release of the Together
Ohio Family Support Fund Request for Grant Applications (RFGA)
Through this RFGA, the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services (ODJFS), on behalf of GOFBCI, is soliciting proposals
from qualified organizations who will implement innovative and effective anti-poverty programs aimed at reducing the
incidence of poverty by leveraging the informal supports of families and community members. These programs will support
local efforts that work with low-income and middle-class families to build relationships across socioeconomic class lines in
order to realize more positive outcomes for families living in poverty. By bridging the gap between middle-class Ohioans and
families living in poverty, middle-class Ohioans develop a deeper understanding of the realities of living in poverty while lowincome
families gain access to wider networks of support as they work to move out of poverty.
Applicants eligible for this funding opportunity are nonprofit organizations, charitable foundations in Ohio, public universities
or colleges in Ohio, and/or County Department of Job and Family Services.
The applicants’ total proposal submissions (both the technical and project budget and required documents) must be received by ODJFS complete no later than 3:00 p.m. local time on Tuesday, November 24, 2009. Faxes or e-mailed submissions will not be accepted. Proposals must be addressed to: Office of Contracts & Acquisitions, Ohio Department of Job and
Family Services, 30 East Broad Street, 31st Floor, Columbus, Ohio 43215-3414, ATTN: RFP/RFGA/RLB Unit.
Please note that during the open application period, GOFBCI staff members are prohibited from answering questions
