On December 14th the New York Times ran this article about the City Council voting down (45-1) subsidies for a retail development because the jobs created were typically low wage jobs difficult to survive on–especially for working families. This past Sunday a column in the New York Daily News delves into more detail on the topic…should public dollars support companies offering low wage jobs and/or with other quality of work issues.
