Local area spotlights

For the last several weeks I have been trying to get out in the field to meet with providers, WIB directors, educators, and other stakeholders…it’s important that the Coalition have first hand knowledge of what is happening on the ground.  Today I was that Southwest Ohio Regional Workforce Investment Board’s meeting and I continue to be impressed with their willingness to make difficult decisions as a board.  Thank you for your service SWORWIB members!

When I came back to the office I started checking online for next meeting on the Cleveland/Cuyahoga County WIB and I saw that Employment Connection has a new website (www.employmentconnection.us) which includes news updates, details on eligible training providers, and other links.  Congrats on the new website EC!

Governor Strickland recently visited an employer in Cincinnati.  Cincinnati State provided trainind for the company and the full story is online at http://www.workforcecincinnati.com/.

Finally, there is lots to read about in the first 2010 edition of The Source’s Business Briefs, also online.
