    Since 2007, the Ohio Workforce Coalition brings together leaders from education and training institutions, economic and workforce development organizations, business and industry, labor, and human service providers. The Coalition promotes public policies that build the skills of adult workers, meet employer skill needs, and strengthen the workforce system to ensure opportunity and prosperity for Ohio families.

Ohio Legislative Activity

The Ohio Workforce Coalition is tracking the following bills and will post updates as we get them.  Please email Rebecca Kusner if you have questions.

  1. SB 172 and HB 305: GED Fee Waivers.
  2. SB 193 and HB 277: business tax credit of $2,400 for hiring a previously unemployed person.
  3. SB 198: STEM Tax Credits.
  4. HB 329: Job Creation tax credits for people working at home.
  5. HB 346: Required state workforce report.
  6. HB 360: Journeyperson tax credit.
  7. HB 381: Create a Workforce Development Intermediary Committee.
  8. HB 419: Income tax deduction for portion of Pell Grant.
  9. HB 423: Create Industry Sector Strategy Training Program; streamline core services provided under WIA.
  10. HB 424: OCOG for non-credit certificate programs.
