OACAA Grant Writing Workshop

The Ohio Community Corrections Association is hosting a grant writing workshop on April 8. In the current economic environment, creativity in identifying potential sources of additional funding is critical to the maintenance of existing programs and the development of new ones. The ability to compete successfully for that funding by writing effective grants is the key to program health. Unfortunately, all too often worthy programs go unfunded because those writing grants are unable effectively to convey the overall value of their programming, the specific requests for funding, and the fit to the funder’s objectives. This session is designed to provide the tools to enable grant applicants to identify sources of funding and to write grants that maximize the chances of obtaining funding. The training will take place on Thursday, April 8, 2010 at the Ohio Center for Occupational Safety and Health in Pickerington, Ohio (a suburb of Columbus) from 9 am until 4 pm with registration beginning at 8:30am. For more information or to register please check out the accompanying flyer, visit the OCCA website at http://www.occaonline.org or call 614-252-8417 ext. 15. Please register by Friday, April 2. Attached please find a flyer with additional information including more details about the training content and registration instructions.
