    Since 2007, the Ohio Workforce Coalition has been bringing together leaders from education and training institutions, economic and workforce development organizations, business and industry, labor, and human service providers. The Coalition promotes public policies that build the skills of adult workers, meet employer skill needs, and strengthen the workforce system to ensure opportunity and prosperity for Ohio families.

  • 10:00 AM Advocacy: What Does it Mean For You? The United Way of Central Ohio and the Ohio Workforce Coalition will provide an overview of both legislative and administrative advocacy and explain how you may advocate for workforce development issues in your areas.
  • 10:45 AM Policy Platform Work Groups The Coalition is launching a new public policy platform. Now what? Choose an area of the platform and help establish a work plan to accomplish goals in that area.

  • 1:00 PM State Agency Updates Join Stacia Edwards from the Board of Regents, Dan Reynolds from the Department of Development, and Bruce Madson from the Department of Job and Family Services as they share updates from their agencies.

  • 2:45 PM Federal Policy Overview Panel A new take on the federal update—learn about issues important to groups that support workforce development efforts. The Ohio Association of Community Action Agencies, Ohio Association of Community Colleges, and Ohio Job and Family Services Director’s Association will discuss their federal advocacy agenda.
