ODJFS Training opportunity

Training – Serving Customers in a Challenging Environment NOTE: You have the choice of registering for the In-Person training in Columbus on Tuesday, June 15 or the Video Conference training on Tuesday, June 22. (Check details below for registration limits and deadlines.) DESCRIPTION: It doesn’t matter whether you are a customer service representative, greeter, case manager . . . there is no more important aspect of a One-Stop than its front-line, direct service professionals. Job seekers want and need to interact with professionals who know their local workforce system and care about providing the best service possible, even when the economy and circumstances of our customers don’t make it easy. In this session we will explore providing the best possible customer service in today’s difficult environment: ● The face of today’s job seeking customer. ● What creates an outstanding customer service experience? ● Customer wants and needs vs. realistic expectations. ● Helping customers identify options and alternatives. ● When it’s not what they want to hear . . . sometimes it’s not the message, but how we deliver it. ● Letting customers know its not personal . . . explaining policies and procedures. ● Dealing with customer emotions, reactions, and anger. ● Techniques you can use when facing a variety of difficult customer attitudes and behaviors. ● You don’t have to do it alone . . . harness the power of your community partners (resources and referrals). OUR PRESENTER: Carol Wargo, Senior Associate, Center for Workforce Learning. WHO SHOULD ATTEND? One-Stop operators, One-Stop staff, One-Stop partners, WIA Administrators, WIA Program Staff, WIB Members, and any workforce development professionals who want to learn more about customer service.
