Every year the Census Bureau releases data about poverty, income, and health insurance. The 2009 data to be released in September will show the impact of the deepest recession since the Great Depression. It may show the biggest one-year increase in all the years such data has been collected.

Join our expert speakers as they help us get ready to understand and use this important information:

* Christian Dorsey is the Director of External and Government Affairs at the Economic Policy Institute. He is EPI’s expert at translating economic issues into language usable by non-economists. He will share EPI’s projections about what the new data will likely show, help us understand the economic forces shaping the data, and explain how we can use the numbers to make the case for the policies low-income people need.

* Debbie Weinstein is Executive Director of the Coalition on Human Needs. She will explain what kinds of information you can expect from the Census Bureau, when it will be coming, and how you can use it quickly and accurately.

* Ellen Teller is Director of Government Affairs at the Food Research and Action Center (FRAC). She will deftly moderate the webinar and make sure your questions get answered.
