  • Overview

Since 2007, the Ohio Workforce Coalition has been bringing together leaders from education and training institutions, economic and workforce development organizations, business and industry, labor, and human service providers. The Coalition promotes public policies that build the skills of adult workers, meet employer skill needs, and strengthen the workforce system to ensure opportunity and prosperity for Ohio families.

Supportive services are key to success for many students

It’s not new to say that students attending postsecondary education and training are likely to need supportive services, additional assistance, or supplemental resources to make it through–especially adult student who are supporting families, working, and otherwise committed.  Assistance with housing, food, utilities, or transportation could mean the difference between completing school, or dropping out to survive.

The Ohio Workforce Coalition would like to hear what’s going on in your local area to connect adult students to the resources for which they are eligible.  Do you provide a eligibility and application information to all students enrolling in your college?  Do you hand out information on local housing programs?

Please share your strategies–comment here or email rkusner@researchpartners.org.
