Position Description

Allied Health Pathway Advisor

Reports To: Associate Dean, Health and Public Safety Division

Positions Supervised: None

Broad Function: Serve as advisor for students who are admitted to Allied Health Career Pathway Programs in the Health and Public Safety Division, and interfacing with partners and students involved with the Health Careers Collaborative of Greater Cincinnati. Responsible for collecting and analyzing program data needed and preparing reports for grants and divisional initiatives. Collaborate with all community partners and program faculty in order to maximize successful outcomes for students.

Responsibilities and Duties:

· Advise and counsel Allied Health Pathway students.

· Assure cohort integration into the HPS for students participating in the Health Careers Collaborative, including interface with HCC employer job coaches .

· Provide counseling and referral services to students as needed.

· Facilitate reporting requirements for students participating in grant funded programs including data collection and report writing.

· Manage the G*Star data system to collect and input date regarding for Health Career Collaborative students.

· Collaborate with HPS faculty and staff regarding student advising needs and issues.

· Serve a member of the Health Careers Collaborative student support team by collaborating with Industry Job Coaches, education partners, and Community Based Organizations.

· Attend monthly Health Careers Collaborative meetings and serve on sub-teams as needed.

· Serve as a community liaison for Health and Public Safety program recruitment and retention efforts.

· Attend divisional and college meetings related to student advisement/retention.

· Maintain professional growth through membership in professional organizations, attendance at appropriate conferences, workshops, seminars, graduate courses, college and community activities and visits to business and industry.

Specifications:

Required:

B.S. or B.A. in Health Related, Higher Education, or Counseling Field

Three years of successful advising/counseling of diverse adult learners.

Willingness to work flexible a schedule including some evenings.

Preferred:

Graduate Degree in Education Administration, Leadership, or Adult Education.

Experience working with multiple community partners and/or grant funded programs.
