Since 2007, the Ohio Workforce Coalition has been bringing together leaders from education and training institutions, economic and workforce development organizations, business and industry, labor, and human service providers. The Coalition promotes public policies that build the skills of adult workers, meet employer skill needs, and strengthen the workforce system to ensure opportunity and prosperity for Ohio families.

Policy Priorities

The Ohio Workforce Coalition was formed in 2007 to advance public policies impacting workforce development across Ohio and nationally. Through network building, member engagement, issue education, and policy advocacy, OWC has contributed to a wide range of workforce policies in Ohio.

On March 1st, the Ohio Workforce Coalition shared public policy priorities for the 2022-2023 biennium on a webinar for members. OWC has been convening workforce development stakeholders to advance policies that build skills, support employers, and strengthen workforce systems across Ohio since 2007. These most recent priorities are OWC’s first public release of recommendations since 2010 and represent a focus on critical issues the OWC is uniquely positioned to advance through leadership. In addition, OWC will partner with advocates representing post-secondary education and training, human services, and economic development to support their priorities.
